The sunken cabin cruiser beneath the water with anti-pollution barrier in place

The sunken boat

A cabin cruiser had sunk at the hard standing outside John Lewis in Kingston. R8 Marine worked with Lindon Lewis Marine to remove the boat on behalf of Kingston Council.

A floating anti-pollution barrier was set up to prevent any oil or debris being carried away by the river. We attached 5-tonne lift bags inside the stern well and inflated them to bring the boat to the surface. As soon as the deck was clear of the water we pumped out the hull. We towed the boat away to be craned out. It was in poor condition and was disposed of by a licensed contractor.
